Creating a Music Video Project
In this project, students will work in groups to create a music video for a song of their choice. The project will cover the following learning outcomes:
- Understand the elements of music and how they can be used to create a mood or convey a message
- Know how to use technology to create and edit a video
- Can work collaboratively in a group to plan and execute a project
Methodology
Students will be divided into groups of 3-4 and given a week to plan and execute their music video project. They will be required to:
- Choose a song that they feel has a strong message or mood
- Brainstorm ideas for the video that will complement the song
- Write a script and storyboard for the video
- Assign roles within the group (director, camera operator, editor, etc.)
- Use technology (such as smartphones or cameras) to film the video
- Edit the video using software such as iMovie or Adobe Premiere
- Present their video to the class and explain their creative choices
Resources/Materials Required
- Access to technology (smartphones, cameras, computers)
- Software for video editing (iMovie, Adobe Premiere, etc.)
- Poster board and markers for storyboarding
Instructions
1. Divide students into groups of 3-4.
