Instructions:
Preparation:
- Select a variety of news articles from different sources, covering a range of topics.
- Print copies of the Media Bias Analysis Worksheet for each student.
Activity:
- Begin the activity by discussing the concept of media bias with the students. Define media bias as the favoring of one perspective or group over others in reporting news.
- Introduce the different techniques used in news articles to influence readers, such as selective reporting, loaded language, and omission of facts.
