Begin the lesson by asking students if they have ever heard or read a poem. Discuss their prior knowledge and experiences with poetry. Show them a short video or read a poem aloud to capture their interest.
Explore:
Introduce the definition and characteristics of poetry. Discuss how poetry uses language in a unique and creative way to express emotions, ideas, and experiences. Display examples of different forms of poetry, such as haiku, acrostic, and free verse. Analyze each example together as a class, identifying the structure and poetic devices used.
